What is Klik & Play?
Klik & Play is a game creation program. You don't need to know any programming language to use it; everything works on conditions like this:
Here you can see that this counter will always display the value of Player 3's score.
It does get harder than that, but really K&P is an easy-to-use (and rather old) product designed to produce reasonably simple games. Which is all most of us have the time to put together.
The above screenshot is of the Event Editor. There are other editors in Klik & Play, such as the Animation Editor (which can import a limited range of graphic formats) and the Storyboard Editor (for an overview of your game). Everything is mouse-based and friendly (on the surface, at least), and the software comes with libraries of graphics and sound files for you to use. There's a funny British chap who does the video tutorial on the CD, and he'll tell you how easy it is to be making smashing games in minutes and sharing them with the lads down the lane.
If you want to try or buy Klik & Play, head to www.clickteam.com . The program was originally made by Europress Software, but they don't sell it anymore. Because it's old. So don't forget to check out the other game creators available at Clickteam's site, as they are far more powerful and probably a more sensible purchase.
